The Things I Wish Someone Told Me at 18 to Take Into My 20s

Constantly feeling like a hamster on a wheel is the experience most people in their 20's go through. I have gathered 12 tips that I wish I knew when I was 18 hoping that I can help relieve some pressure.
You don’t have to have your whole life figured out
Things will come and go, people, moments, jobs etc, it doesn’t define you or who you are/ becoming. Everyone is on different paths.
BALANCE
Save your money, but never sacrifice memories because of it. What will you look back on in 20 years and remember?- that's what’s worth spending you money on.
The thing you're stressing about, you won’t even be able to remember in 2 years time
All the disappointment, tears, anxiety- won’t mean anything and you may never even remember what you were stressed about, so give yourself a break and take a deep breath before you get too overwhelmed.
Being busy isn’t the same as being productive
Time moves fast, as is easily wasted, if you don't plan out your priorities.
You can start as many times as you want
-If things don’t work out you will just come back to where you are (and that isn’t that bad right?)
Give it a go
An inkling and you're questioning if you should go for it, chase that inkling ALWAYS.
Learn to do things alone
It teaches you so much about yourself, and you realise that no one actually cares what you are doing or that you are by yourself.
Nothing beats kindness
You don’t know what people are going through, be kind.
The small things become the most special memories
Late night moments
Family dinners
Quick trips
Coffee with a friend
Visiting family
The hard times will pass
If you’re struggling right now, think of it just as a season, it will pass and the sun will shine again no matter how hard it is.
Comparison steals more happiness than failure ever will
Someone will always be ahead of you in something, so stay in your lane and that's when you will thrive.
Your body is not something worth you fighting your whole life
You will look back one day and say that you were silly because your body was perfect, and you were far more beautiful than you ever believed.
At 18 I really wish I knew that you don’t need to have answers for anything. I am learning now at 20 that you’re not behind, life isn’t a race and everyone is at a different stage of life. Your younger self would be so proud of the person you are becoming and even though you may not know what that is yet, it will be something special if you just keep taking the next step.
